Days 29 & 30 - Oct 1st and 2nd I rode into Del Rio Texas, the largest town since leaving El Paso Texas. The ride on Wednesday was somewhat smooth with no crazy issues etc. After staying the night in Del Rio I decided to explore the town and area on Thursday. I biked over to the Amistad Reservoir & Dam which was built in the 1990's and is jointing owned and run by the U.S. and Mexican Govts. The dam is 7 miles across the Rio Grande River that creates a very large and attractive lake. It seemed to be a very nice area for boating, fishing and hunting. I visited several marina's on the reservoir and spoke with Judy and her friend who pledged to donate to Habitat for Humanity. Judy gave me a bunch of information on places to ride my bike in the area......thank you. (see pic of Judy and I below)
