Day 63 (I am in Tallahassee FL...300 miles left!)

Day 63 - Nov. 6th I rode 63 miles into Tallahassee Florida today.  I got here a day early so Friday I am resting and then Saturday morning we will ride over to visit the Tallahassee Habitat Build Site at 8:30am.  Then after my visit I have only 300 miles left on my Journey to St. Augustine.  The local Habitat Director Tyler Turlock met us coming into the city so that we would not get lost.  We then followed him to the lovely home of Danny and Allison Manausa to stay Thursday and Friday evenings.  They are wonderful hosts and this has definitely been the best place we have stayed on this trip.  And...we are well experienced from about every type of motel/hotel from this journey.  Thank you for the great hospitality Danny and Allison!!    Also, our good friend and neighbor Tom Krakow from Lafayette California is flying into Tallahassee Friday evening to join me for the last 300 miles.

I cannot believe how many other bikers I have met on this trip as I came across Joe and Robin (see pic below) on the outside of Tallahassee Thursday.  They are riding my same route except for going East to West. Again.....more smart riders that figured out that riding with the wind is easier then riding against like you know who!!  They are both from Ireland and have been living here for about 10 years.  They both live in Chicago and raise awareness for Juvenile Diabetes and promote Green Transportation.  We of course had to chat about our riding experiences as I could fill them in on what is down the road.  Its great meeting other riders as it almost feels like a fraternity or club.
